Panos is WYDOT’s new Interim Director
Bill Panos is WYDOT’s new interim director. He comes to the department after serving two years as director of the Wyoming School Facilities Department.
Prior to coming to Wyoming, Panos served as a group manager for TRW Automotive Group, state toxics director for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, city manager in Eureka, Calif., port and public works director in West Sacramento, Calif., and construction executive for Washington state.
He replaces John Cox, who Gov. Matt Mead has appointed director of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. Cox had served 11 years as WYDOT’s director, following seven years as commanding officer of the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
Mead also appointed WYDOT Chief Engineer Del McOmie to replace Panos as director of the School Facilities Department. McOmie had served WYDOT for 36 years, the last 15 as chief engineer.
